Overview of Job
The Manager/ Director of Business Development will work closely with our US Staff as a head of Sales and the Manager-Client Services to create a focused market strategy. He/She will be pro-active in sales activities to convert prospects into clients. He/She will be the primary owner of the Opportunity Management Process (Prospect, Evaluate, Propose and Close) and will manage new prospects and clients for the first 18-months of an account relationship.
Duties & Responsibilities
Demonstrable existing relationships with IT executives across a variety of industry verticals.
Demonstrable experience in achieving annual revenue targets of $2.5 million/ annum individually.
Able to communicate and manage senior client stakeholders (CXO -1, -2, -3 levels).
Ability to conduct industry and customer analysis: identifying pain points.
Eagerness and experience in successfully growing and partnering with clients.
Understands basics of software outsourcing, Global Delivery Model (offshore/outsourcing) and cost & revenue drivers.
Excellent Relationship Building Skills.
Building and Managing a strong Sales Pipeline.
Customer profiling, sales planning and set revenue / margin targets by services line at the account level.
Anchor client meetings and pursue any opportunities generated with the help of pre-sales, partner units and external partners.
Strong knowledge of business environment and norms to be able to spot opportunities and ensure conversion to business as per client needs.
Understanding of impact of industry trends, competition nuances and offerings, sectoral priorities, relevant government regulations etc.
Able to align technical team and customer sponsors to ensure delivery is prioritized on early achievement of business value.
At least 5 years (Manager)/ 10 years (Director) of professional experience related to business development for an IT services company.
Telecommute Ok within USA, with weekly/ biweekly meetings with US Staff and President.
Experience in the local US market
Ability to create Business use cases, financial ratios and analysis
Knowledge of selling concept, principals & guidelines esp. deal closure, handling objections etc.
Ability to learn regarding the business processes of the client, Cyber Infrastructure processes, and service lines.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills..
Business Planning - Organization/Unit Level
Sales Planning & Review and Market Development
Ability to define specific solutions within abstract environment.
Experience working in large as well as small corporate environments.
Hands-on experience with proposal creation and leading proposal presentations.
Wide variety of IT and business consulting engagement experience with a thorough understanding/appreciation of the software service business.
