PPC Freshers Job Overview

As a fresher PPC executive, your job role is to manage online advertising campaigns on platforms like Google Ads and Bing Ads. Your job would largely be to do keyword research, ad copy creation, setting up and optimizing ad campaigns. As a fresher, you are required to take up basic tasks including learning how to set up campaigns, track their performance, and analyze data to improve results.

For a fresher role in PPC, you will typically need a bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field. Though, practical skills are much more important. You must have a basic knowledge of online marketing concepts, strong analytical skills, and familiarity with Google Ads and similar other platforms. Knowledge about Google Analytics and Excel would be beneficial.

Although you do not necessarily require certifications, having one would significantly boost your chances of selection. You can obtain a Google Ads certificate and a Bing Ads certificate. As a fresher, both provide you a competitive edge and certify your understanding of PPC concepts and tools.

Being a PPC fresher, mastering Google Ads and Bing Ads is what you should focus on first. Apart from that, you might need to learn Google Analytics for tracking and reporting, SEMrush or Ahrefs for keyword research, and Excel or Google Sheets for data analysis, which will lead you to manage and optimize your ad campaigns effectively.

The salary of freshers in PPC varies according to location and organization size, but based on general conditions you can estimate an entry-level salary to be around INR 1.8 lakhs* to 2.5 lakhs* per annum. As you will gain experience, your salary will increase in line with your performance and responsibilities.

As a PPC fresher, you can progress towards positions like Senior PPC Specialist, PPC Manager, or even Digital Marketing Manager. As you gain more expertise, you may seek new opportunities in other spheres of online marketing, such as SEO, social media marketing, or starting up your own digital marketing agency.

In addition to technical skills, you will have to develop good communications skills to work with clients and other members of the team. Analytical thinking, attention to detail, problem-solving, and effective time management are highly essential in the campaign in terms of data interpretation and meeting deadlines.
