Role overview

As a Senior Java Developer, you will be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of high-quality scalable applications. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that business requirements are translated into technical specifications and that projects are completed efficiently and effectively. You will work on complex components and lead efforts in the development of e-commerce, flight and hotel booking applications using Java. Your role also involves mentoring junior developers and contributing to the overall improvement of development processes.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Design, implement, develop and maintain applications using the Java tech stack as per project requirements with a focus on high-quality scalable solutions.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications and lead the development of complex components within the project.
  • Actively contribute to all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including requirement gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, integration and maintenance.
  • Proactively monitor production and non-production environments to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Write clean, efficient, secure and maintainable code ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
  • Continuously improve existing systems by adding new features and optimizing performance, security and stability.
  • Regularly monitor application performance and implement innovative solutions to enhance system efficiency.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior developers, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
  • Follow and promote best practices in software development, deployment and maintenance ensuring high standards across all projects.

Required skills and experience

  • 2.6 to 6 years of working experience with Java, Java Spring, Spring Boot and Hibernate.
  • Strong understanding of the complete SDLC cycle and relevant technical concepts.
  • Solid understanding of DBMS and relational databases.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think logically and creatively.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also being a strong team player.

Education and qualifications

BE/ME/B.Tech/M.Tech (CS/IT)/MCA or equivalent
