Freshers UI/UX Designer Job Overview

In this entry level position as a UI/UX designer, the primary work involves creating wireframes, making prototypes, designing interfaces, performing users' surveys, and balancing usability with the goals of the business. You will also work closely with web developers, digital marketers, and other experts to get your designs implemented and the business objectives of the company achieved.

Besides design skills, other important soft skills such as empathy (to understand the user's need), effective communication (to present the design), teamwork (to collaborate with people from various professions), and problem-solving (to approach design challenges and turn them around) are required for fresher UI/UX designer jobs.

To stand a better chance of being hired, you should practice essential design skills and become excellent at design tools, develop an impressive portfolio, utilize LinkedIn and Behance for professional connections, join meetups or webinars on UI/UX, enroll in several online courses or online certification.

One determining challenge is going to be the need to reconcile creative and practical approaches. There is also the issue of time constraints and working with people from different departments. It is also important to seek feedback and learn to put users first rather than the designer's preferences.

It wouldn't be wise to think that you have to focus on a specialization at the very outset. As a fresher, you can do both UI as well as UX design.
