Role overview

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Junior Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. This position is ideal for individuals with 6 months to 2 years of experience in network engineering who are eager to further develop their skills and contribute to network infrastructure projects. As a Junior Network Engineer, you will work closely with senior engineers, gaining hands-on experience in network setup, maintenance and troubleshooting.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware and software.
  • Support senior network engineers in daily network operations including monitoring network performance and diagnosing issues.
  • Configure routers, switches, firewalls and other network devices.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Maintain and update documentation of network configurations, changes and upgrades.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to support overall IT operations and projects.
  • Stay updated on the latest networking technologies and best practices and apply them to ongoing projects.

Required skills and experience

  • 6 months to 2 years of experience in network engineering or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Hands-on experience with network devices such as routers, switches and firewalls.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with network security principles and best practices.
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+ or equivalent.
  • Experience in network performance monitoring tools and techniques.
