Overview

We are looking for a skilled Linux Administrator with 2 to 4 years of experience to join our IT team. This position is suited for professionals with hands-on experience in Linux administration who are ready to take on more responsibility. The role includes managing Linux servers, troubleshooting complex system issues, optimizing performance and implementing security measures to ensure smooth and secure operations.

Duties and responsibilities

Advanced Linux System Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to Linux servers, workstations and applications. Operating System Installation & Configuration: Install, configure and manage Linux operating systems in various environments, ensuring system stability and performance. User Account Management: Administer user accounts, permissions and access control for secure and efficient system usage. Software Installation & Maintenance: Install, configure and maintain a variety of software applications on Linux servers, ensuring compatibility and security. End-User Support: Provide technical support to users, resolving hardware, software and network issues in a timely manner. System Security: Implement, configure, and manage security policies, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems to safeguard Linux infrastructure. System Updates & Patching: Regularly manage system updates, patches and Linux application upgrades, ensuring minimal downtime. Performance Optimization: Monitor system performance, perform tuning and make recommendations for performance improvements. Automation: Develop and maintain scripts for automation and system management tasks.

Required skills and qualifications

Experience: 2 to 4 years of experience in Linux administration. Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Linux operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat). Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation. Solid understanding of networking services and protocols (e.g., DNS, DHCP, SSH). Familiarity with system monitoring, performance tuning, and backup/recovery tools. Knowledge of security protocols and best practices, including firewalls and antivirus solutions. Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and collaboration abilities. Ability to prioritize and manage tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
